April, the time of exams and hectic-ness.
As someone living with a health condition, April is daunting and worsens the stresses. Here are some ways I take care of myself when studying or among a busy/stressful time in general.
- Stay hydrated!
- Go for a walk at least once a day, get some fresh air
- Spend time with friends, and that can be to study with them although it is not as
productive it provides you with dopamine and good laughter and the social connection we all need
- Prioritize things, this is so important for us living in a limited energy reservoir, prioritizing tasks and completing tasks that are the most important save so much energy and strain later
- Pace yourself. Make sure you sleep and as sleep is so crucial for the brain when living with a brain injury I have to make sure I get enough sleep as otherwise I will crash.
These were some basic tips but these are so fundamental living with post concussion syndrome. I hope these can provide a reminder to you to take care of yourself 🩷
